
CDCo-produced an Arabic music CD, Katia in "Youm el Farrah" , containing all original Oriental music, composed by Aboudi Badawi, and written for Katia. This CD was nominated by IAMED of Los Angeles as Best Middle Eastern Music CD of 2001 VideosDirected and co-produced six professional dance videos: Visions of Arabia, 1991 with the Near East Dance Theatre, Stars of the East, 2000, a showcase of twelve dances from the repertoire of the popular trio, Amera, Katia, and Sumaiya, who were also members of the Near East Dance Theatre of Boston and available on DVD. In late 2001, Katia's solo performance video Dance, Katia,Dance, containing many original Oriental choreographies and beautiful costuming. Her second performance video Dance, Katia, Dance Vol II "Ahlan" was released April 2003, Both videos of "Dance, Katia, Dance" are now available in a 2 disc DVD set. Katia also produced another professional video of a fashion show of twenty-one ethnic embroidered costumes and jewelry from the East beautifully modeled by Boston area dancers. The title is Visions of the East-A Tapestry of Life A Collection of Handmade Garments From the Middle East & North Africa. It was recorded June 2003 by and for the Arabic Hour Studio, Roslindale, MA. and released in November 2003. The most recent video Visions of the East - A Journey Through Dance" celebrates the choreography of Katia's 35 year career in the dance and is presented on stage and danced by 20 of Boston's best dancers. It was released in 2008 and is available on DVD from Katia. Awards1996 inductee into the American Academy of Middle Eastern Dance Hall of Fame, New York City, for choreography and performance. 2001 - Katia received a nomination for her CD "Youm el Farrah" written by Aboudi Badawi by IAMED of Los Angeles as Best Middle Eastern music CD in 2001. 2003- Received the Giza Academy Award for "Dance, Katia, Dance" as Best Middle Eastern Dance Video of 2002 - Catagory: Choreography for the Camera. 2003 Middle Eastern & Mediterranean Dance Orientale Award presented by Adriana at the Ninth Annual Dance Orientale Gala and Awards Ceremony, Alexandria, VA. in appreciation for outstanding and pioneering contributions to the field of Middle Eastern dance as a performer and teacher and for her unrelenting efforts to push forward the frontiers of this art form.
